If you’re like me, at some point you got tired of keeping all of your files in google drive or dropbox, maybe you got bored of netflix or other streaming services. Or maybe you just wanted to experiment with setting up your own servers, subnets or vlan’s and practice your IT skills. Well this pint came for me a few years ago when I decided to build my own home server. Currently my server hosts a multitude of services, such as network attached storage, security cameras, DNS server, and media hosting. What makes it all possible is a magical hypervisor called ProxMox, which acts as the host for all my VM’s. Below I will go into detail on what services I use, hardware details and how my network infrastructure is layed out.
